Vaisala Sponsors Lightning Conference at 85th American Meteorological Society Annual Meeting

Vaisala is proud to sponsor the first conference focused on applications of lightning observations at the AMS Annual Meeting to be held in San Diego, California, USA, from  January 9 to 13, 2005. 

The Conference on Meteorological Applications of Lightning Data is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, January 10 and 11.  The two primary goals set by AMS for this conference are: 

Facilitate discussion between researchers and operational meteorologists related to past and present applications of lightning data Motivate creative thinking with regard to, and support for, the use of future advanced lightning detection systems in both the operational and research communities.

As the world leader in the in lightning detection technologies and systems, Vaisala is eager to contribute to this forum on advancements and applications of lightning observations used in meteorology around the world.
